The Green Beginnings GREEN HOMES EDUCATIONAL PACKAGE consists of the book GREEN BEGINNINGS:THE STORY OF HOW WE BUILT OUR GREEN & SUSTAINABLE HOME and the GREEN BEGINNINGS VIDEO and provides newcomers and professionals alike an opportunity to learn about and understand green homes built to the criteria set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED For Homes Green Building Rating System, the national benchmark for green design and construction. (LEED is an acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). This new, innovative experiential approach to learning about green homes uses the true story of planning and building the GREEN BEGINNINGS HOUSE, a USGBC LEED Silver and Energy Star Qualified Home in Kennett Square, PA to explain green homes. The book shares the homeowners experience of learning about, planning and building the home, while the video presents the same experience as shared by the creative professional team (green builder, architect, sustainable engineer, and landscape architect) behind the project. This special educational package provides a meaningful learning experience to a wide and diverse audience, including homeowners, architectural, engineering, and environmental business and science studies, Realtors, construction and building professionals, and all who are interested in learning how the global culture is adapting to change in the interest of health, the environment, conservation, and the protection of our natural resources.
